Randall K. Druvenga

Randy Druvenga is currently the president and CEO of First Maxfield Mutual Insurance Association of Denver, Iowa. He also manages First Maxfield Mutual Resources which owns three insurance agencies: ABC Insurance, Denver Insurance, and Harm’s Insurance. Randy has served in this role for over 14 years, and during that time, the mutual has thrived. The company has grown premium by 159%, assets by 181%, and surplus by 186%, and is one of the strongest and most successful farm mutual insurance companies in the Midwest.
In 2018, Randy experienced a life changing event in the loss his wife Pam, from a bike accident. They have two adult children, Sam Druvenga and Ashley Shipp, and two grandchildren.
In his leisure time, Randy is a sports fan and avid bicyclist. He officiated 39 seasons of high school football and basketball and was inducted into the Iowa High School Athletic Association Officials Hall of Fame in 2014.
Randy has been active in the Mutual Insurance Association of Iowa (MIAI) for many years, has served on its board, and is a past president of the organization. Randy has also served as board chairman for the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC) from 2019-2020 and was honored with the Merit Award in 2012.
Randy also serves on the board of directors for Grinnell Mutual, a position he has held since 2014.
In addition to his commitment to the industry, both in Iowa and in the U.S., Randy is active in his community as a business leader. He has coached many youth softball and soccer teams and has been instrumental in supporting community youth athletic programs. Randy has served as president of the Waverly-Shell Rock Booster Club, the Greater Waverly Kiwanis Club along with serving as a youth group leader and a lay leader for the church.
His company is a responsible corporate citizen that supports groups in his community with both money and time. First Maxfield sponsorships include Coaches vs. Cancer, Waverly-Shell Rock Booster Club, Denver Booster Club, the Waverly-Shell Rock Community Foundation, the Northeast Iowa Foodbank, and St. Baldrick’s Foundation to name a few.
Randy is a well-respected business leader and a very influential voice for, and champion of, the farm mutual industry. He holds himself and his company to the highest of ethical standards, and is a consummate professional, demonstrating a level of integrity that has impacted not only the insurance industry, but his customers, vendors and employees as well.
