EMMETT J. VAUGHAN

A prolific writer, speaker and consultant on insurance issues, Emmett J. Vaughan, CPCU, CLU, CPIW, is well-known throughout the national risk management and insurance community for his professional accomplishments. Dr. Vaughan has written and published more that 150 articles, along with 15 books and monographs. He is the author of the leading college text on insurance, Fundamentals of Risk and Insurance, and is one of only two Americans who have been inducted into the Japan Risk Management Society. Dr. Vaughan regularly testifies before committees of the United States Congress and state legislatures on insurance issues, and has served as a special insurance consultant to the government of Kuwait following the Iraqi invasion.
Over the years, hundreds of University of Iowa students have been inspired by Dr. Vaughan to pursue careers in the insurance community. A tireless student of the industry himself, he has spent his career analyzing the significance of insurance in our society and promoting the highest level of professionalism among its practitioners.
