Carter Fitzgerald

Carter Fitzgerald is a senior at the University of Iowa, majoring in Risk Management & Insurance, Finance, and Corporate Accounting. After graduating from high school in Cedar Rapids, Carter was quick to join the University of Iowa’s Vaughan Institute of Risk Management and its chapter of Gamma Iota Sigma. He carries curiosity into every Risk Management & Insurance class he takes and is never afraid to dive deeper into a topic.

In his summers, Carter has had the opportunity to work with the university on analytics projects, participate in the Insure Your Future Program with TrueNorth, and work in public finance investment banking in Des Moines with Piper Sandler.

Carter is also an honors peer mentor for over a hundred students, helping them navigate their coursework and careers. In his mentorship, he loves recommending the Vaughan Institute’s faculty and pushing his peers to take (calculated) risks.
