Bob O’Hollearn

Bob O’Hollearn began his career with Allied in 1972 holding various claims management positions. After becoming associate vice-president of claims for the Des Moines Regional Office in Des Moines, Iowa, he was appointed regional vice president for the first time in January, 2001.

During his time in Iowa, Bob served two terms as mayor of Johnston, Iowa, one of the fastest-growing suburban communities in the state. He also spent time on the Board of Directors of several community-based organizations, including the Iowa Insurance Institute, Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Blood Center of Iowa.

In September 2003, Bob was named regional vice president of the Pacific Coast Regional Office in Sacramento. While leading the largest regional office for Allied, Bob served as a Board Member of the Greater Sacramento United Way chapter.

Bob was once again appointed regional vice president for Allied’s Des Moines Regional Office in April 2011. Prior to his retirement in the spring of 2015, he served on the Board of Directors for Allied Group, Inc., Allied Property and Casualty Insurance Company, AMCO Insurance Company, and Depositors Insurance Company. He remains active as a Board member of the Des Moines Performing Acts and the Taxpayers Association of Central Iowa, currently serving as Board Chair.

Bob is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa with a B.A. in social science/political science education and continued his studies in the area of Executive Development with the University of Iowa.
